African Institute

Establishment

The African Institute for Health Policy & Health Systems was founded by Professor Jesse Uneke. It was originally established on the 29th of April 2015 in Ebonyi State University Abakaliki. The official inauguration of the Institute was performed on 8th November, 2017 by Dr. Abdul Ghaffar, the Executive Director of the Alliance for Health Policy & Systems Research of World Health Organization Geneva, Switzerland.

Following the appointment of Prof Jesse Uneke as the Vice-Chancellor of David Umahi Federal University of Health Sciences (DUFUHS) Uburu, the Institute’s second version was established in DUFUHS on the 1st June 2021 as African Institute for Health Policy & Health Systems II.
